MonPetit Cat House Shorts | AI-Generated Realistic Product Ads
AI VideoProduct
A lazy afternoonbegins with a cat stepping out of its little wooden house.
Late Studio created two social media product shorts for Purina MonPetit, using AI imagery to show the paw-print wooden cat house and the food-truck cardboard cat house in use: the cat steps out of its house, scratches, enjoys a can of food, and finally drifts off to sleep. Late Studio handled everything from concept and storyboard to AI video generation and editing, delivering 16:9 landscape shorts of about 16 and 10 seconds.
Starting with an Afternoon | The Cat and Its Wooden House
The brand wanted to introduce a paw-print wooden cat house. Instead of listing selling points one by one, the team placed it in a cat’s afternoon: stepping out of the house, scratching on the ramp, waiting for its owner to open a can, then returning to the rug for a nap after eating.
Every action corresponds to one use of the wooden house. By the time viewers have watched the cat’s afternoon, they have also seen the whole product.

Locking the Look First | Cat and Cat House Design
In a short of just over ten seconds, each shot lasts only two or three seconds, yet the cat and the cat house must be the same cat and the same house in every shot. The team first defined the cat’s coat colour, eyes and movement, as well as the wooden house’s wood grain, paw-print opening and sloped scratching ramp, as references for video generation.
At the storyboard stage, the team prepared two visual options, A and B, for every action, letting the client choose the composition and mood first. The storyboard went through five versions, and the video went through several rounds of adjustment, gradually tightening the pace and the length of each shot.

The Second Short | The Food-Truck Cardboard Cat House
The star of the second short is a food-truck-shaped cardboard cat house. The cat first lies inside the box, then climbs onto the roof for a stretch, enjoys a can of food beside the truck, and finally gets a gentle pat on the head from its owner.
With only ten seconds, the pace is tighter, so the first storyboard was divided directly by seconds: lying in the box, climbing onto the roof, enjoying the food, resting on the roof, and the brand logo at the 10-second mark. The final version replaced the resting scene with the owner petting the cat, adding a moment of interaction between person and cat.

The Toughest Part | A Realistic, Live-Action Feel
This project used AI imagery as the main production method, yet the result had to look like a real live-action commercial. The texture of the fur, the direction of the light, the brand logo on the packaging: if any of these goes off, viewers will notice.
In every round of revisions, the team checked one by one that the cat’s coat and shape stayed consistent and that the product logos were clear and correct, and adjusted the editing rhythm with reference to the brand’s existing social media posts, so the shorts sit naturally on the brand’s page.

Back to the Beginning | A Complete Afternoon
Both shorts end with the cat’s everyday life: one asleep in front of the wooden house, the other squinting happily under its owner’s hand. The products are never pushed in front of the camera, yet they stay in the frame throughout.
