Entering our 7th year, we thank our clients for their trust.

Late Studio was established in 2019. From its humble beginnings as a 1 person company, it has rapidly grown over the past 2-3 years. Now, it is an active front-line animation studio in Hong Kong’s animation and advertising industry and has started to connect with the international market.

We are grateful to our clients who have accompanied and trusted us throughout our growth, as well as everyone who has helped Late Studio. It is because of your support that we have been able to grow at an “unprecedented” speed.

"Goal to become top 10 Animation House in the world!"

Late Studio is a 2D/3D animation production house found in Hong Kong. We specialize in producing high-quality animated promotional videos and game trailers, primarily active in the Advertising industries.

We are not content with just being a “functional” animation studio; our ultimate goal is to be at the top of the world. “If we do it, we aim to be the best globally.”

Why Late?

In a world that worships faster and cheaper, we focus back to quality. We polish every frame to last. Our name is a choice: shape the work with time and care, and make experiences that are remembered.

What Late represent

高品質3D動畫角色

High-quality 3D animated mascots, our greatest strength.

Characters are the soul of a story. A well-crafted character or mascot can convey beliefs, embody brand image, and leave a lasting impression on the audience. When working on game trailers and brand value videos, character-related aspects, from design to animation production, should be treated with the highest priority.

Initially, character design was our weakest link, but it has now become our strongest skill. It is our belief in “facing and overcoming challenges” that drives us to pursue the utmost quality.

Cinematic-quality animation that you can feel

Late Studio specializes in producing cinematic-quality animation short films. Whether it’s mascots, characters, scenes, or special effects, we always strive to push the quality to the extreme, allowing the audience to “feel” the value of the animation video.

As an animation production studio that has long been at the forefront of the Hong Kong advertising industry, we excel at uncovering the core value of each project and amplifying its unique charm. We do not aim to create animations that are “merely visually stunning but ineffective.”

University Blender Course | Corporate 3D Animation Training

Late Studio provides Blender and 3D animation training for universities and companies. And through education-focused collaborations, students can experience industry animation project and company intern marketing teams can do basic 3D tasks.

Since 2023, we’ve worked with different organizations like the Education Bureau, offering workplace experiences and even hiring some students as long-term part-timers.

Elite Team, Great Impact!

As a latecomer in the Hong Kong animation industry, Late Studio is like Luffy’s team from “One Piece.” Though not large in scale, we continue to improve and overcome each challenge together. We aim to make an impact in the new world and become one of the “Five Emperors” in the future Hong Kong animation industry.

We focus on designing brand visual styles for our clients, including 3D animation design and production, as well as 2D animation and VFX visual effects services. Our project types include game trailers, brand promotional videos, product animation advertisements, TV commercial VFX, event LED background videos, and more. We specialize in creating animation content with character interactions and action sequences, as well as brand mascot production.

What software does Late Studio use for 3D animation production?
We use Blender as our main 3D production tool, covering all 3D processes including modeling, shading, texturing, lighting, character rigging, and animation. For post-production compositing, we use either Nuke or After Effects depending on project requirements, with final editing completed in After Effects.

⋮Price and Timeline

How much does it cost to produce an animation?
Each project is quoted individually based on factors such as visual complexity, video length, quality requirements, and level of service. Project budgets can range from a few thousand to over a million Hong Kong dollars. For a specific quote, please contact us via email and we’ll provide a tailored proposal based on your needs.

How long does it take to produce a 3D animation?
In Late Studio, we divided animation production into three phases: Design Phase, Production Phase, and Polish Phase. For a typical 30 to 60-second animation without time constraints, design can takes approximately 4 weeks, production takes around 4-8 weeks, and polishing takes about 1-2 weeks.
However, if you have a specific deadline, we will work closely with you to discuss feasible animation content, timeline arrangements, and key milestones.

⋮Project Pipeline

What is Late Studio’s collaboration process with clients?
Every projects in Late Studio, we begin by understanding client’s needs and general budget, then provide direction on the animation content. After reaching a preliminary agreement, we’ll meet with client to discuss details and introduce our animation production workflow, clarifying the roles of both the production team and the client. Once the collaboration is confirmed (quotation signed and deposit paid), we deliver results in stages, including initial previews and revision phases, until final completion. Late Studio communicate with clients at every stage to ensure we’re aligned on the direction.

How many revisions are included?
The default is 3 revisions, but depending on each project’s budget and nature, we offer different revision models. For example, corporate clients typically require unlimited revision packages, or if the video needs to support an event with a specific deadline, we can provide unlimited revisions within that timeframe. Additionally, clients can reduce production costs by opting for fewer revision rounds.

⋮Generative-AI

Does Late Studio use gen-AI to assist in animation production?
Yes, but we decide case by case for each shot. Some shots are faster with AI, while others are easier and more predictable with traditional 3D animation. Often we use a hybrid approach. We build the base in 3D, including characters, camera and motion, then use AI to develop the final look, keeping its random results within a controlled range. We don’t use AI for its own sake. We choose whatever gets the result most reliably.

AI animation cost lower price?
Not always. AI does cut the cost of producing images, but it also adds new costs. Besides the basic generation fees (credits), the bigger cost is communicating with AI. Getting AI to produce images that meet the brief means refining prompts, testing and regenerating again and again. That process alone takes a lot of work, and the results usually still need manual fixes in post-production. So the cost doesn’t disappear. It moves from drawing to generating and communicating. For simple requirements, AI can save you money. But the higher the visual standard, the more those savings get cancelled out, and in some cases traditional production is actually cheaper.
