Event LED Visual3D Animation

Late Studio was honoured to create the visuals for every LED screen at the VIP event for Patek Philippe's new Cubitus collection, including three animated chapters and generic visuals for the breaks. We kept in close contact with the client on every video to fill the event with surprises and leave a lasting impression on every guest.

Act I, Cubitus: a journey into a digital world full of mysterious time magic.

Style References

Each of the three videos has its own flavour: Cubitus and Bolero carry strong elements of musical theatre, while Time Square feels like a fashion show, with cyberpunk as the unifying style. The music in all three resembles a video-game boss battle theme, and combined with the chapter format, the RPG feel is very strong.

Cubitus has a quiet, magic-show-like stage style; Bolero is intense; and Time Square is a fashion show full of op art.

When it came to cyberpunk, the team first thought of the neon edge lighting in Tron: Legacy, and after some discussion agreed the effect was spot-on and adopted it.

3D Compositing Effects

In Act I, the camera doesn't actually move; the illusion is created by many overlapping objects in motion.

The Act II scene itself is made of particles, but in render mode they merge together like a 3D image.

In Act III, the city is only generated as the camera moves, and it is actually presented as a loop.

Event VideoAct III On Site

As the final chapter, the event moved into free time, with guests mingling around the venue. Our team was on site throughout, observing the visuals and making sure the videos played smoothly on LED screens of different sizes.
