Media Kanebo | Moisture Cream Foundation Trailer

Invited by YMYM, Late Studio created a 15-second vertical CGI product animation (1080×1920 / 25fps) for the “media” Moisture Cream Foundation by Kanebo Cosmetics. The film uses “the silky flow of foundation” as its main visual language: a ribbon with a creamy texture weaves through the frame, guiding the viewer’s eye while conveying a moisturised, smooth and soft-matte feel. The product is balanced between the surrounding fluid and negative space, with a clean blue background and soft highlights creating a premium look that serves both product recognition and texture.

Refining Product Details

Once in 3D production, we kept refining the flow of the foundation, starting with shape details, light and shadow, to create the look that best expresses “moisturised and smooth”.

To create a truly fluid feel, we needed to add the surface tension of liquid. Here we used Multiply to achieve this, so the liquid clings to other objects when it touches them.
