Late Studio provided CG support for Adidas HK’s VFX promo “Adidas ADIZERO Viral Video”, creating a photorealistic 3D model of the “ADIZERO Adios Pro 3” sneaker. During production, the team used 3D scanning to help reconstruct the real shoe, so the CG sneaker could blend naturally with the live-action footage.

Making the Photorealistic 3D Sneaker

To create the 3D sneaker, the team first scanned the real shoe with 3D scanning software. After obtaining a rough 3D scan model, the team refined the details of the sneaker model in Blender.

In pre-production, to make the composition and visuals clearer, the agency pieced together concept frames for each shot from image materials, giving both the live-action shoot and the animation a clear direction.
